Britannia


The earliest known reference to the inhabitants of Britain comes from the record
of the voyage of Pytheas, a Greek geographer who made a voyage of exploration
to the British Isles
circa 330 -320 BC.
Historia is based on  Brutus, the great-grandson of Ǽneas,the Trojan hero of Greek mythology,
who was the first British king. Brutus fled to the isles which came to be named after him
in the aftermath of The Trojan War.

Cornovii, was the land of the Brythonic - Celtic tribes.
The people of the "peninsula" had cultural and economic ties to ancient Carthaginians ,
Greeks, and Phoenicians, who traded for Cornish "tin".
Gaius Julius Caesar landed with two legions
And attacked The Britons in 55 B.C.

to abdicate. Traditional date for the fall of the western Roman Empire.

The Legend oKING ARTHUR emerged from The Isles of Britan and The Arthurian Legend spread across Europe.
Arthur was born among the moorland landscape of Cornwall, on the southwest peninsula of the isle.
Artorius is a family name of Etruscan origin. It came to mean “noble” among the Celtic tribes.
According to the legend, Arthur was born the son of King Uther Pendragon in the castle of Tintagel.
Arthur was abandoned as a child and found by Merlin the Magus, who delivered him to Sir Ector, whose wife nursed him.
The list of the legendary kings of  The Britons follows the fourth son of Japheth, the first king of the Celtic Gallii.
Druis, the fourth king of the Britons, founded the Druids. Albion, son of Neptune, usurped the title, renamed the island to his own honor, and ruled it for forty four years.
After Hercules killed Albion on the continent, the Britons had no rule. The Kingdom claimed by Arthur was established in the aftermath of the Trojan War by the king Brutus, son of Ǽneas Silvius.
Lud, the founder of London, was the king before Julius Cǽsar invaded Britannia and the land became a province of Rome.
Arthur drew the sword Excalibur from stone to prove he was the “true” king of Brittaniǽ.
The Enchanted Sword could slice through anything and made whoever bore the scabbard invincible.
In the earliest Brythonic texts, Arthur is a Roman strategist who militarily unites the Celtic chiefs against the ANGLO-SAXON INVASIONS.
The Brythonic people became known as wealas to the Saxons. The Realm became known as Cornwall and Wales.
Arthur marshaled the defense of the fortifications and walls left behind by the Roman Legions.
The kingdom of Sussex was founded in A.D. 477. The Merovingian Empire of France was established in 486 by Clovis with the defeat of the last Roman Governor of Gaul.
The kingdom of Wessex was founded in 495. King Clovis defeated the Germans in 496. The Lombards occupied the area north of the Danube and sought occasion for war.
